Pinewood Beach House

Description

This Georgian Bay waterfront residence embraces refined coastal modernism, where natural stone, weathering wood, and a disciplined roofline define a calm and balanced architectural expression. Large expanses of glazing invite daylight deep into the interior and frame uninterrupted bay views, dissolving the boundary between indoor living and the protected waterside terrace. A continuous canopy unifies the front and rear façades, creating a visual divide that clarifies the home’s simple massing while offering sheltered outdoor space across two levels. The material palette features stone anchored to the land, soft vertical / horizontal cedar siding, and standing seam metal, leans into a contemporary beach house aesthetic that will patina seamlessly with its shoreline setting. Inside, light oak, polished concrete, and natural plaster cultivate a quiet atmosphere, complemented by a wood-burning pizza oven, built-in dining nook, and floor-to-ceiling sliding doors that expand the living space outdoors. Thoughtful millwork, corner windows, and understated detailing reinforce a sense of serenity, proportion, and connection to place.
