Natural White Cedar Clad Modern Scandanavian Cottage

House Two

Description

Imagined as two modest gabled forms, this contemporary home sits quietly among the trees of a secluded street in Tiny Township. Natural eastern white cedar cladding allows the structure to age gracefully, integrating with the muted tones of its surroundings. A low, flat-roofed breezeway links the two building masses, creating a subtle break in the form while framing views through the site.

Inside, a careful balance of compression and openness defines the experience. Lower ceiling heights at entry give way to tall vaulted living spaces filled with natural light. The result is a simple yet deliberate composition—modern in expression, warm in materiality, and thoughtfully grounded in its setting.
